Guest speaker: Jacqui Purcell
June’s speaker was drawn to Permaculture by her deep and passionate desire to reduce waste. Jacqui was taught permaculture by the impressive community here on the central coast. She is in the throes of transforming her 8 acre property in Seaham to be aligned with the Permaculture ethics and principles. She has completed her APDC. Another topic that interests her is seed saving. The Slow Food Hunter Valley group, together in conjunction with the Maitland City Council libraries have started a seed sharing library. Jacqui is a member of both groups and a very active participant in the movement, having starred in the ABC news story about the libraries’ inception, saving seed for donation and running workshops for its members about the importance and ‘how to’ of saving seed. This is the knowledge she will be sharing with the PCC.

Members frequently bring in items for sale, so don’t forget to bring some cash with you.
Don’t forget to buy a ticket and contribute to our raffle. Last month we had so many that we have some carried over into this month including some goodies from Steve Smallbone, who has donated items from THE DIG that is closing down out the back of the hall. (Some great treats in there). However, the more the merrier to help keep items out of landfill. Someone’s unwanted items are another person’s treasure. (See list down in raffle section).
- 1 raffle ticket: $1
- 3 raffle tickets: $2
- 10 raffle tickets: $5
Pauline and Frank have some green manure crop seeds for those that haven’t got anything planted at the moment. Seeds include mizuna and mustard seeds.
If you’re planning to stay for supper after the talk, please bring a plate of food to share. Please aim to get on board with our no plastic goal for PCC wherever possible.
