On Friday the 11th of August we will be taking a group of volunteers into a local, family owned, permaculture designed winery to assist the community focused owners to get ready for the busy year ahead. Many of their the botanicals they use in their wines are found on the property and they rely on them being at their best. We will be sprucing up the raised garden beds with compost and planting seedlings. Pruning fruit trees and replanting the orchard with more suitable species. We will also be replanting the potato tower and sheet mulching the vegetable patch and food forest.
If you would like to join us you will need to be a member of Permaculture Central Coast.
To thank you for your assistance the host will be providing morning tea and lunch so please advise us as soon possible if you have any dietary requirements.
These days are full of fun and learning and we usually get the added bonus of cuttings and friendships. You will also be eligible to have a blitz at your place after volunteering at two events if you have a permaculture design you would like implemented.
If you decide to join us on the day please get your free ticket and bring along with you a hat, gloves, sturdy closed in shoes, water and any tools you wish to use but please make sure they are labelled.
