Guest Speaker: Cheralyn Darcey
As the weather turns cooler, new opportunities as well as challenges begin to unfold in our gardens. Cheralyn will share with you plans, ideas and open discussion on what can be a busy time of planting and preparation for the seasons ahead and even a time of experimentation. She will also explore the botanical history of some of the plants of this time of the year. Make the most out of this autumn in your garden.
Cheralyn is an ethnobotanical gardener and botanical history author of twenty internationally published botanical titles. She produces and presents a weekly live 2-hour gardening radio show, At Home with the Gardening Gang, on CoastFM963 and writes the weekly Down in the Garden page for Central Coast News and The Coast Chronicle. Cheralyn lives in Lake Munmorah and is also the Garden Curator of SWAMP, Sustainable Wetlands Agricultural Makers Project in Tuggerah.

Raffle
1 raffle ticket: $1
3 raffle tickets: $2
10 raffle tickets: $5
Some great prizes for this month’s raffle at our Hall Gathering on Tuesday the 16th of March:
Formidable Vegetable’s most recent album, Earth People Fair in retro vinyl, signed by lead singer Charlie Mgee and cover artist Brenna Quinlan along with a copy of their Permaculture Action Cards that include Brenna’s beautiful illustrations with samples of Charlie’s wonderful permaculture lyrics (these are great for playing permaculture games with children);
A Permaculture Australia T shirt in 3XL so it will fit anyone as either a shirt or a nightshirt;
A Diggers Club wall poster showing all kinds of beneficial relationships that can be achieved using companion planting.
Do you have something you would like to donate as a raffle prize? Perhaps some produce from the garden, some home made preserves or a permaculture book you have outgrown? All donations gratefully received and from this month we will bundle everything into just three prizes to save time and to give winners the opportunity to share their bounty with others if they wish to do so.
