Join the accidental permies at Gavann Garden Farm to talk about the joy of growing plants from seed and watching in wonder as a tiny brassica seed the size of a grain of sand grows into a giant cauliflower with a kilo-plus head.
We are a small property in the Jilliby area running a micro nursery and chemical-free garden, selling directly to locals from the farm gate one day a week.
We will talk about mixing seed raising mix, how we do it and why we do it that way, including how we plant out and manage our succession planting and juggling all the things that come with a big garden, as well as what should be direct sown and what can be raised in trays or pots to get a head start on the seasons.
Before you go, be sure to have a wander around the property and check out the 2-year-old orchard, our new larger compost bays, our laying hens and the growing cage built from re-purposed trampolines & scrap, all while catching up with the great people at Central Coast Permaculture.
Parking and shuttle
Because there is limited parking at GavAnn Farm, you can park at Allan Foods (where there’s a lovely road stall with all their chem-free products):

We will run a shuttle service between 2:30 and 2:45 pm to take you to the venue and bring you back after the gathering.
