Guest speaker: Jacqui Purcell
June’s speaker was drawn to Permaculture by her deep and passionate desire to reduce waste. Jacqui was taught permaculture by the impressive community here on the central coast. She is in the throes of transforming her 8 acre property in Seaham to be aligned with the Permaculture ethics and principles. She has completed her APDC. Another topic that interests her is seed saving. The Slow Food Hunter Valley group, together in conjunction with the Maitland City Council libraries have started a seed sharing library. Jacqui is a member of both groups and a very active participant in the movement, having starred in the ABC news story about the libraries’ inception, saving seed for donation and running workshops for its members about the importance and ‘how to’ of saving seed. This is the knowledge she will be sharing with the PCC.
